The Athletes of the Week for track are Nic Hunter Velasquez and Casey Keiser. Nic Velasquez was 8th in the 100-yard dash out of 35 schools and placed 2nd in the 3A.
The 100-yard dash as opposed to the 100-meter dash was special a event to commemorate the historic track meet. Each team chose one member to run in the race.
Casey Keiser did a good job in the 800-meter dash as well as the one mile. Both of these student-athletes are shaping up to have great seasons in track and field.
Coach Shaun Murgel said, “this season is looking good, we have a good chance of going to state in a lot of events.”
The athletes of this week are hard-working individuals and we can expect more good things from them.
