Freshman Shelby McKinnon was chosen as Athlete of the Week by coach Ty Lucas. McKinnon said, “it is an honor to have been chosen as Athlete of the Week.”
Despite McKinnon being a freshman, coach Lucas said “stepping into varsity as a catcher is a difficult job, but she has done well.”
Week by week McKinnon improves and this is a change Lucas has noticed.
“I give her challenges and every week she answers them. She still has a lot to learn, but I am happy with her progress,” he said.
