Career Profile: Waylon Huber

By Ariana Lee Rothe

Waylon Huber has several businesses like a coffee shop, a gym, and a monetary company. He has a couple of different titles but also works as a real estate agent at Robinhood Realty in Winnemucca.

He supervises transactions of real estate between buying and selling and how they operate rentals around Northern Nevada.

Before that, he worked as a motor engineer for thirteen years but he was looking for a more flexible schedule.

“It’s not easy, It’s not for everybody but it’s definitely rewarding,” said Huber.

He aspires to have financial freedom and to be able to travel especially because of his big family. It’s hectic to manage the family and his career all at once.

“Dealing with different personalities is the hardest part about this job and handling clients’ expectations,” said Huber.

Huber says it’s important to be respectful and also to help educate them in a way where you not talking down to them.

Conversely, he enjoys when people are happy when they purchase their new home.

“I wished that I would have learned more about taxes and how businesses are incorporated in school because when I got out of school I had no clue about anything about taxes or brackets,” said Huber.

If you want to go in a similar direction after graduating he would recommend dabbling, looking at some schooling, marketing, and especially business marketing.
