Electives to consider

If you are signing up for classes, and aren’t sure which electives you would like to take, here are a few examples that should be taken into serious consideration when you are getting ready for the stressful task of registering for classes.

If you are looking for a fun, interactive course with plenty of class discussions, look no further than Mr. Beck’s Contemporary History class. This class focuses on the ongoing events of the world; including, but not limited to, sports, politics, national and international affairs, and the random activities that happen in between.

While foreign language classes are a good idea if you plan on post-secondary school, A.K.A. college, they are not required. It is strongly recommended that if you are uncomfortable speaking in front of your classmates and you don’t like a lot of homework, these classes may not be for you.

If you like classes where you are allowed to sit and chat with your friends, while still working of course, then you might want to think about taking Business and Personal Law, Web Media (The Brand), or Yearbook. In these classes, you will battle deadlines all year long. You even get to experience a mock trial in which the class makes up the jury, prosecution, and defense. It is a lot of bookwork, but at the same time, isn’t all that time-consuming.

Other electives that should be taken into account are classes such as; Ceramics, Accounting, Consumer Finance, Web Media, Yearbook, etc… These are only a few of the many offered electives here at Lowry High School, and they should all be considered.
