FAKE NEWS: Single point of exit a possibility for Lowry

This year, one of Lowry’s most notable changes to the school was the single-point entrance at the front of the school. The main purpose of this was to maintain safety throughout the school. With this entrance, no person would be able to enter the school without someone in the office knowing.

After several weeks into school, many bystanders began to see what a huge waste of money this was because you could still get into the school from the senior parking lot.

The administrators and school board began to brainstorm new ideas for the safety of the students at Lowry. They pondered this for months and months and eventually came to the conclusion that if we can’t control who comes into the school, we can control who comes out,” explained Principal Ray Parks.

“When Mr. Parks informed the staff about a new drastic security measure that doesn’t work, I was ecstatic. Now the students will be wasting half of their 30-minute lunches trying to get out of the school to their vehicles. Wasting student’s time is what we love to do best,” explained Leadership Advisor Tanya Grady.

The staff are not the only enthusiasts of this idea, the students of Lowry share the same high hopes that this will be better for the school.

“Having a single point of exit is the best thing that has happened to Lowry. I feel so much more secure knowing that if there’s a fire or school shooting, everyone will all file into the glass hallway like sitting ducks. On top of that, seniors are going to love not being able to use their parking lot since everyone will have to exit through the front. Overall, it’s a huge win for everybody,” said 2017 Student Body President Annaleise Gabica.
