Fake News: Student arrested for attempting to leave campus

Senior Josh Dunnington has found himself in Officer Jones’s custody after getting caught jumping a fence.

By now everyone has noticed that the gate between the Science and Main buildings is always locked. Going all the way around the buildings to get outside has become quite a chore, which is why several students have decided to take the shortcut, and just jump the fence.

“Students need to realize that the gate has been locked for a reason,” said Officer Jones. “There is no reason for kids to be climbing over it, it doesn’t take that much longer to walk around the building,” he added.

The gate will continue to be locked the whole school year. Students are not allowed to climb on or over any fences on school property.

“We are just trying to keep the students here safe, so we ask that everyone respect the rules,” said Officer Jones. Since this incident, no other students have been caught jumping the fence.

“It’s not like I was doing anything wrong, I just didn’t want to walk all the way around the building,” said Dunnington. “What’s the worst that could happen anyways?” Officer Jones said that administration will not take jumping fences lightly and that any student caught doing so will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
