Each month there are four students from Lowry (one from each grade) that are selected for students of the month for being excellent role models at school and in the community. Also for having positive attitudes and displaying self-control. The students chosen for February are Auriana Criddle, Tytin Johnson, Anita Mercado, and Cristina Montanez.

Auriana Criddle is the freshman student of the month appointed by Mr. Newland. He nominated her because she sets a positive example in class and has a positive attitude. He was quite impressed with the 96% on her first quarter exam.

Our sophomore student of the month candidate is Tytin Johnson, nominated by Mrs. Millikan. She believes he is an excellent role model, sets an exceptional example, and has a positive attitude. “Tytin is a pleasure to have in the classroom. He works diligently, has a sense of humor, and is pleasant and kind”, states Mrs. Millikan. She also says “His positive attitude carries to those around him. He is involved in extracurricular activities and even with a busy schedule that Titan shines.”

Anita Mercado, our junior student of the month was recognized by Mrs. Bidart. Mrs. Bidart believes she is a terrific library assistant and serves as an amazing role model to young people at school and those in the community. “She works hard and is willing to do anything I ask her to do”, says Mrs. Bidart. She also is responsible for creating and displaying items on the new bulletin board in the library.

The senior student of the month is Cristina Montanez, selected by Mrs. Partee. She states that Cristina is a tremendous role model and displays a positive attitude in school and the community. Mrs. Partee has a lot to say about Cristina “Cristina always tackles any job with a smile and gives 100% to every task. Not only does she give her “all” academically, she is kind and considerate to others, no matter who they are. She gives every effort to be a good student and a good person. She is always helpful to peers and staff and offers her help cheerfully. Cristina is truly a wonderful person to have in class and an asset to this school.
