The freshman boys continued their winning ways by beating Elko 60-44 on January 15. The game was close for the first five minutes then Lowry pulled away.

“Both teams really played hard,” said Grant Beatty.

Lowry improved its record to 12-1 on the season and 6-0 in league play. The Buckaroos are back in action Saturday hosting a tournament. Their first game is at 9:00 a.m. when they play the Fernley Vaqueros.

Dominic Diaz was impressed with his team’s effort in the game.

“We played super hard and really good as a team. We started off hot and kept the lead the whole game. It’s always a good feeling beating Elko,” said Diaz.
