The week of homecoming started early this year in September instead of October. Leadership advisor, Ms. Julia Topholm, noted higher participation this year than previous years.

“This was one of the highest amounts of participation that we have seen over the last couple of years,” said Topholm.

The week began with an energetic atmosphere where students displayed their class spirit through dance, band, and cheer performances, setting a vibrant tone for the upcoming events.

“I would say that I liked helping out with the assemblies a lot,” said Jonathan White.

Each day featured exciting dress-up themes, including Baseball Day on Monday, High School Musical Day on Tuesday, Mean Girls Day on Wednesday, Grease Day on Thursday, and Blue and Gold Day on Friday, all contributing to the fun.

Sandlot Day (Monday): The school buzzed with enthusiasm as students donned their favorite baseball jerseys and caps, celebrating America’s pastime. Student Myah Lara mentioned that this was her favorite dress-up day.

“My favorite was Sandlot Day because I like baseball,” said Myah Lara.

High School Musical Day (Tuesday): Students embraced the catchy tunes and vibrant outfits inspired by their favorite characters from High School Musical, as everyone showcased their best 50s attire and enthusiasm for teamwork.

It was really fun because I’ve seen that show before and I’ve seen a lot of other schools do it and I thought it was nice that ours did,” said Brooke Asbury.

Mean Girls Day (Wednesday): Pink was everywhere as students celebrated Mean Girls Day, channeling their inner Plastics. Many students exchanged laughter and shared moments that showcased the fun of friendship and humor.

I feel that it relates because it is a movie that’s based on high school,” said student Myah Lara

Grease Day (Thursday): Leather jackets and poodle skirts made a grand appearance, bringing a nostalgic flair to the campus. Students celebrated the classic film, reminiscing about the ’50s.

“It was a really fun dress-up day, I liked participating in it because I really like the movie,” said Amaya Gonzalez.

Minion Day (Friday): The final day of the week shone brightly in school colors and minion attire, many funny outfits shined this day.

“It was funny when Dylan [Martin] dressed up as Vector for the minions one,” said Myah Lara

During this year’s homecoming, the junior class won an impressive victory, winning the He-man volleyball and Powderpuff games against seniors. Their teamwork and spirit shone brightly, making the event a memorable celebration of school pride and competition. The juniors can now proudly claim their triumphs over the senior class! the faculty team, and the sophomore and freshman classes.

Junior Callie Paulsen explained how homecoming week was planned with the upcoming events and how successful it all turned out with the students’ help.

“Activities that we did like He-Man volleyball and Powderpuff for girls had a lot of people come to watch and support them,” said Paulsen.

Many decorated floats for the Powderpuff parade with balloons, streamers, and music. Cheerleader Mya Jackson coordinated the cheerleaders for the homecoming parade and the Powderpuff football game.

“I liked it, it was really fun and exciting, and lots of live music,” said Jackson.

The week ended in a lively Friday assembly, where the excitement peaked. The atmosphere was positive as students cheered for their classmates played fun games, and watched as the administrators got pied.

“I think our Friday assembly was wonderful, we tried some things new with our new game with the air mattresses and things like that,” said Topholm.
