Summer is finally here and that means it is time to have some fun in the sun, but when you don’t want to be outside roasting in the blistering heat and just want to sit down and relax, the movie theater is the place to be. Here are some of the most highly anticipated films of the summer that you do not want to miss out on.

“Jurassic World” – It has been 14 years since the release of the easily forgettable “Jurassic Park III” and now the “Jurassic Park” franchise is returning with a boom with the release of “Jurassic World” on June 12. The movie stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Judy Greer, all of whom are new to the series. Following the events of the last movie, the island on which the dinosaurs roam has been transformed into a resort and has become a large tourist attraction. Things go awry when an extremely dangerous genetically modified dinosaur gets loose and it is up to the main cast to save the day. This movie is fixing to be one of the biggest releases of the summer and it is certainly a flick to catch.

“Inside Out”- Pixar has become known to not disappoint when it comes to animated movies and their latest movie looks to be as promising as ever. “Inside Out” is set to release on June 19 and will certainly be a movie worthwhile. In their latest installment, Pixar takes a creative twist on things and sets the film inside the mind of a 13-year-old girl by the name of Riley Anderson. Inside her mind, five of her emotions, Anger, Sadness, Joy, Disgust, and Fear try to lead the girl through her life after it has just been turned upside down. The movie features the voices of Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black. Pixar has become one the most successful franchises of all time for animated movies and this one will keep the tradition of good animated movies going.

“Ant-Man” – Following the big release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on May 1, Marvel Productions is releasing another action-packed superhero movie just two months later. “Ant-Man” is set to release on July 17. Although this movie is about a fairly obscure hero in the Marvel Universe, we can still expect it to be extremely entertaining like all Marvel movies are. The Ant-Man (played by Paul Rudd) has to power to shrink in size but increase in strength, a very unique superpower. “Ant-Man” won’t be as big as the newest “Avengers” but it is still highly anticipated by moviegoers everywhere.
So if you are looking for something to do over the summer that doesn’t require you to be outside, these movies and many more will be making their way to your local theater this coming summer.
