Track and field coach Byron Jeppsen chose sophomore Jonathan Moser for Student-Athlete of the Week because of his great improvement in throwing events.

“The most improved in my group is probably John Moser from the throwers,” said Jeppsen. “He’s throwing much further than he was last year and we are only at the beginning of the season.”

Moser said he is throwing farther than he was last year.

“My PR (personal record) is 34 feet for shot put and 112 feet in disc,“ said Moser.

Along with throwing events, Moser competes in 200 meter and 4×200 which are running events.

“I want to work on my shot put because it’s my worst event,” said Moser.

On March 15 Moser attended the High Desert Frosh Invite and finished 4th in shot put throwing 10 lbs 37 feet, hitting a new pr. In discus, he finished second with a throw of 98 feet and 6 inches.
