Kianna Head is a sophomore at Lowry High. Her coach Maite Hernandez has chosen her as the girl’s Student Athlete of the Week in track.

Head has been in track since she was in 8th grade and has participated in multiple events.

“I’ve been doing track since 8th grade and I do high jump, triple jump, pole vault, and the 400,” said Head.

This past weekend she went to the Dayton Invitational track meet where she showed her talent by hitting two new personal records in the triple jump and high jump.

“Kianna did very well this weekend she took first in the high jump with a PR and in triple as well with a PR,” said coach Maite Hernandez.

Head feels accomplished by being chosen this weekend for Student-Athlete of the Week. She has been working so hard during practice to get better and she hopes to continue showing her hard work throughout the rest of the season.

“I feel proud that I was chosen since I’ve been working hard during practice,” said Head. “So far this track season is off to a great start and I’m hoping to keep progressing throughout the rest of the season.”

Coach Hernadez chose her because she stood out because of the hard work that she has been putting in and you can see that from her performance at Dayton’s track meet.

“Kianna’s performance this week stood out to me and it showed at the track meet,” said Coach Hernandez.
