This week freshman boy’s basketball coach Ricarda Braatz chose Jonny Leon as her Student-Athlete of the Week.
Leon works hard at practice and always comes in with a positive attitude and works hard each day.
“Jonny is a natural playmaker with exceptional court vision and the ability to take care of the ball under pressure,” said Braatz.
Jonny is also coachable. He listens to what his coaches say and tries to find new ways to improve.
The coach and players believe communication is a big part of basketball.
“We need to work on our communication and talk to each other on the court,” said Leon.
Leon’s teammates say he is a good and funny person to be around. He is always in a good mood, even after a bad game or practice.
“Jonny is always happy to be at practice and always works hard and is just fun to be around,” said Dominick Castaneda.
Leon is known to have a good attitude and is always working hard and trying his best to improve.
“He understands that success is built on trust, communication, and doing the little things that often go unnoticed,” said Braatz.
Should add this to a transition Leon works outside of school and asks how he can improve on his own time.
