On Tuesday, April 19 the JV baseball team played an away game against Lovelock and lost 13-2.

“We definitely played our hardest and didn’t stop playing hard when the score wasn’t in our favor,” sophomore Gabe Torres said about how the team played.

Torres believes that they were somewhat discouraged by the fact that they were playing a varsity team.

He said, “I think we were a little intimidated by their size and that threw us off a bit and affected the game.”

Torres said that to be ready for their next games, they need to focus on playing as a team and keeping their heads up.

“We are all very skilled and talented. We just get down and constantly drop our heads,” Torres said.

Jimmy Rackley, a freshman, said that they hit well and only had a few errors but just couldn’t put it together to beat them.

The loss makes the team’s record 7-11 for the season. The JV team will play a doubleheader away against Wells on Tuesday, April 26.
