The JV boy’s basketball team had a winning record as they finished off their season after a rough start.

“We became a lot better as a team as the season continued. Our offense came together and we started getting looks,” said freshman post, Dorsey Naveran.

Throughout the season the team agrees that their best game was against South Tahoe in the Winterfest game.

“We were down by 15 going into the third quarter and pulled out a win in the fourth quarter,” said Naveran.

“The team was just playing like we knew how to. Everyone on the court was connecting. Our defense was getting steals and that led to good looks underneath the basket,” added sophomore teammate Ren Mattson.

The team got their job done as the season came to a close.

“I’m proud of how far these kids have come since the first practice. They knew it would take hard work and they got the job done. I am excited to see them continue their career and hope to see all of them come back out again next season,” said coach Grant Beatty.

The roster included Domonick Solis, Cole Smith, Riley Sakurada, Logan Peters, Peyton Capellen, Victor Castaneda, Naythan Kepler, Dylan Kalkoske, Ren Mattson, Darian Solis, Dorsey Naveran, and Brayden Jensen.
