The Lady Bucks hosted playoffs against the South Tahoe Vikings and came away with two victories that took them to the state tournament.

The Lady Bucks kicked off the weekend by taking one game away from the Vikings 7-1. Jordan Mecham pitched a phenomenal game against South Tahoe with multiple strikeouts that really kept the momentum on Lowry’s side. Carli Evats hit well for the Bucks as she was the only player to hit a triple for the Bucks.

“It was a dominant performance both games by Jordan,” said Taylor Johnson.

The Bucks just needed one more win to advance to the state championship. Lowry won in stunning fashion by beating South Tahoe 11-1. Mecham pitched a stellar second game for the Lady Bucks, as she kept striking out the Vikings and providing her defense with easy plays to end the innings. The Bucks ended the second game with a double play from Madison Gonzalez to Taylor Johnson.

The Lady Bucks will play the Boulder City Eagles on Thursday, May 18 at 3 p.m. in the first game of the state tournament.
