Lowry girls earn their way to state

Regionals were held Thursday through Saturday where Lowry girls defeated Dayton on Thursday 48-31. Next, they faced Yerington on Friday winning 39-34 then finally on Saturday lost to Spring Creek 56-52.

“As a team we played awesome,” said freshman Darrian Black.

Black was also quoted saying, “We need to work a little harder on defense, work together and talk more.”

Another member of the varsity basketball team sophomore Rachelle Dennis said, “We have to keep up our intensity.”

The team’s first game will be against Boulder City at Desert Oasis High School at 6:20 p.m. The second and final match will be against the winning team of the Spring Creek vs. Virgin Valley game and will be held on Saturday at 6:40 p.m in the Orleans Arena.
