The Lowry swim team is currently getting ready for their upcoming season. This year new swimmers are being welcomed onto the team; making it a larger team than previous years. Coaches Cassandra Jenkins and Mckenzie Rupp are excited to prepare the team for their first meet.

“Coach Rupp and I are looking forward to having a much larger team than years past,” said Jenkins. “As well as seeing our past swimmers back in the pool ready and anxious to get back into swimming shape and make new PRs”.

The swimmers are also excited for the upcoming season and have been practicing hard to prepare for swim meets.

“Myself and a couple of other swimmers have been going in during the mornings at 5 a.m. to get an extra practice in during the day,” said Tanner Hatch. “I think due to our larger team we will be able to win team competitions.”

Regionals and even state is the goal for everyone on the team this year. Everyone is expecting the season to be full of many achievements and victories.

“Our goal is to get swimmers to the state championship,” said coach Jenkins. “However, we will have many new swimmers this season, so all in all, we would love to see all of them qualify in at least one event for regionals.”

This season is offering many great opportunities for old and new swimmers. Everyone is working very hard to achieve their goals for the upcoming meets.
