Lowry High School recently had an Academic Assembly. It was held on May, 18th, 2011. We had the whole school get involved and it was a blast. There were awards handed out for many accomplishments.

Some students got an award for 4.0 GPA, for 3.5 GPA, for .5 GPA improvements, and many other things. The crowd that attended this assembly was amazing. The number of students given awards as part of the assembly was even more spectacular.

The theme for the 2011 Academic Assembly was a Superhero theme. There were Superman logos along the middle of the stage. Many superheroes were put on cardboard and placed around the gym. There were also many performances at the Academic Assembly. The talent and fun that were in the Academic Assembly were outstanding.

Most of the stands were full of parents and friends. It was great to see how many students could achieve such amazing things. With their family and friends there supporting them, it was a great time. I interviewed Joseba Criswell to see what his thoughts were on the assembly below.

Me: “Joseba, how did you enjoy the Academic Assembly this year?”
Joseba: “I enjoyed seeing everyone come out to watch, it was a blast.”

Me: “Were you a part of the Academic Assembly?”
Joseba: “Yes. I received many awards.”

Me: “Did you enjoy the performances that were shown at the assembly?”
Joseba: “Yes. They were all very fun to watch, especially the Basque dancing.”

The Academic Assembly during the 2010-2011 school year was a great success. Many kids really enjoyed it, and were awarded for their talents and their achievements. The 2011 Academic Assembly was an amazing time and made the end of the year greater.
