Movie Review: ‘The Heat’

After the movie debut of Bridesmaids, director Paul Feig released the movie of summer 2013, “The Heat”.

Sandra Bullock (Blindside) and Melissa McCarthy (Identity Thief) are the main characters. The incompatible undercover agents must work together to bust a drug deal in Boston. Drastic events take place with comedy wrapped around each scene. Bullock is funny, but McCarthy steals the spotlight. McCarthy and Bullock are definitely a good duo in the acting world. Co-star Demian Bichir takes cast in the movie as Hale.  The stars come together in an eventful, yet hilarious comedy.

One scene includes Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Bullock) and Det. Shannon Mullins (McCarthy) where the characters have accidentally given away the keys to their work car to some old guy. They chase the guy to get the keys back but as he enters the car through the driver’s side, the car blows up in a massive explosion. The car had bombs meant to kill the agents. The movie had multiple scenes that got laughter from the audience.

“The Heat” premiered in New York. The opening weekend made a total of $40 million, which blew away the previous record for Bullock, McCarthy, and Feig. This movie is a must-see.
