As the year comes to a close, coaches have released schedules for athletes that involve conditioning, camps, as well as possible tryout dates. This provides information for upcoming events that will allow athletes to plan ahead of time.
VOLLEYBALL
Pass, Set, Spike: For volleyball, open gyms this summer will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30 – 9 a.m. Also, a camp will be held in the new gym 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. June 13-15.
Tryouts will be the first Saturday, August 3 and there will be a tryout at 8 – 11 a.m. and then probably another from 3 – 5 p.m.
BOYS SOCCER
Dig Deep: For boy’s soccer, summer conditioning will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 – 9:30 a.m. starting June 18. No conditioning (July 1 – 5) It will be hosted on the baseball fields as well.
Soccer camp in Reno on July 19-21 with TMCC. Tryouts will be on August 3 and August 5 – 8 p.m., and the first tournament will be on August 16 – 17.
DANCE
Just Dance: For the dance team tryouts are scheduled for Aug 1-3 (Thurs-Sat) from 9 a.m. – noon in the cafeteria.
The camp is scheduled in the fall again, Oct 31 – Nov 2, and is already on the calendar w/Mandi.
FOOTBALL
Ready! Set! Hut!: Lowry football will start June 10. There will be summer conditioning practices on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. This will go until July 2.
There will also be a team camp July 8 – 11. On July 15 – 25, practices will resume at 4 – 6 p.m.
GIRL’S BASKETBALL
Get out and Play Some Ball: Girl’s basketball open gyms will be starting on April 29. They will be on Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 – 6 p.m. through May as gym availability allows. Just a reminder open gyms are not mandatory, if you are playing another sport, be sure to check with your coach to see if you can attend the open gym. (Do not attend if you do not have permission from your current sports coach.)
There will be warm-ups, shooting, and plenty of games in order to get the players back and moving over the months.
GIRL’S SOCCER
Dedication speaks louder than words: Girls soccer will have an introduction on May 13: Lowry (Meet & Greet) during lunch and May 14: WJHS (Meet & Greet) during lunch. The summer workouts will begin on June 18 – July 25, Tuesday & Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m.
A youth camp will be held at Lowry High School from July 30 – Aug 1 lasting from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Tryouts will begin on August 3 starting at 7 – 8 a.m. and the second day for tryouts will be on August 5 – 9 from 7. – 8 a.m. as well as 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. As well as the Alumni game will be on August 9 at 6 – 7 p.m.
SOFTBALL
Get Dirty: Softball Summer strength training will take place from 9:30 – 11 a.m. tentatively planned for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting on June 17. This will all depend on the amount of girls who show up.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Run Forest, Run: Summer conditioning will begin on Tuesday, July 16 at 2 p.m. It will begin at Lowry High School on the track and this will happen every Tuesday and Thursday. For strength training, there will be a meeting every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and it will go from 8 – 9 a.m. at Battle Born Fitness; there is a fee.
The official first day of practice will be August 3, at 3:15 p.m. on the track. Be sure to complete the online registration prior to attending the first official practice of the season, otherwise you will be ineligible to participate.
CHEER
Bring it On: Open Gyms will be from 3:30 – 5 p.m. on, May 15, May 17, May 20, and May 21. Tryouts will be on Wednesday, May 22, from 3 – 5 p.m. and there will be a parent meeting on Wednesday, May 22, at 6 p.m.
WRESTLING
Players will go to a camp in Jerome Idaho.
BOY’S BASKETBALL
Youth Camp will be on June 10-12. Boise State Team Camp will take place on June 13-15. Reno Tournaments including Varsity and JV teams, up to 12 players per team, will be June 22-23, July 13-14, and July 27-28.
Open Gyms will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Also, weights/conditioning will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
