Mr. Scott Santos’ Advanced Manufacturing Technologies program and their parents had the opportunity to tour Tesla’s Gigafactory on USA Parkway on February 18th, 2025.

“I thoroughly enjoyed observing the students tour Tesla’s automated assembly line as they witnessed the technology, of which they have been learning in class, all working together to manufacture the battery packs used in Tesla’s vehicle,” said Santos.

Santos believes this experience further explained and educated the class on the subjects they have learned.

“From a distance, we could also see the construction of Tesla’s new facility in which their semi-trucks will be fully manufactured,” said Santos. “This facility will employ another 3,500 employees in the near future. As Tesla proceeds through this period of expansion, students completing the MDP program will likely experience rapid advancement in the company as a result,” said Santos.

The students involved in this program are likely to advance in the Tesla company, presenting students with various opportunities to make money and grow in the business world.

Tanner Hatch looks forward to these opportunities and enjoyed his experience during the trip.

“While there, we learned how Tesla operates using as much vertical integration as possible to minimize manufacturing time and allowing for fast and efficient innovation across the board,” said Hatch. “It was also very beneficial being able to see their high school graduate employment opportunities through the MDP program.”

Hatch enjoyed the trip and found the manufacturing process interesting and valuable to learn. He was also interested in the post-graduate opportunities.

Allison Green had a good time visiting Tesla and is hopeful for the opportunities it could bring.

“We wanted to expand our learning from the classroom and be able to experience real-world opportunities that manufacturing provides,” said Green. “Tesla showed us the different levels from the assembly lines all the way to management. This trip was beneficial to our class because not only did it give us another path to follow out of high school, but also a larger interest in different forms of technology.”

Green appreciates the opportunity to view manufacturing as a real way to make money and move up in the world instead of seeing it as a class with no point.

The Tesla trip was an opportunity to learn about the building and manufacturing of Tesla and an opportunity to expand in the Tesla company.
