This week’s Performer of the Week is junior, Chanse McAllister. He was chosen by Mr. Criddle for how well he played the tuba.

“He is an outstanding tuba player and was singled out by one of the judges at our recent festival performance in Anaheim, CA.  He always plays his part correctly and is the foundation of the band, balance-wise,” Criddle said about Chanse.

McAllister spoke about how the band played in the Heritage Festival.

“I thought that the band played well in Westminster. We received third place silver, and we were among the top 80 to 90 percentile in the entire United States,” said McAllister

McAllister continued, “I’m satisfied with the ranking we were awarded because it is a respectable accomplishment for a small town like Winnemucca. When we listened to the recordings of the judges’ responses I received many compliments for my tuba playing, saying that the band had a strong tuba player. nevertheless, I am proud of the Lowry High School band’s performance in California.”

McAllister appreciated being selected by Criddle. “I think it feels pretty special to be Performer of the Week because I’ve been participating with the band for six years now, and at this point, it’s a large part of my life. Mr. Criddle is an amazing music teacher, and I am glad he chose me as Performer of the Week,” said McAllister.
