“I have promised a smooth transition in the Governor’s Office because the people of Nevada deserve nothing less,” Governor Jim Gibbons said in a press release from the Office of the Governor.
Gibbons has already said that he will work closely with newly elected Governor Brian Sandoval, who was elected in early November.
According to the release, he and his team have been working on a new state budget that will incorporate the essential services required by the Nevadan citizens. While there have been signs that Nevada will pull out of this economic downfall, the Governor is required by the Nevada State Constitution to create a balanced budget. This would require the use of decreased revenue figures which would reduce the state spending on everything but essentials to the citizens of the state of Nevada.
