The science classes at Lowry High School give Winnemucca teenagers a chance to learn about the wonders of our world.

Ms. Lea Bell selected Olivia Smith as the Science Student of the Week for being a good student.

“Olivia Smith is an amazing student that is quick to grasp science concepts and be able to explain these concepts to others,” said Bell. “She turns in high-quality work that sets the standard for many projects, labs, and classwork. She always strives to do her absolute best.”

Bell states that Smith is a good student and a hard worker who learns quickly.

“Science is amazing, you get to figure out why things aren’t working, and you get to fail spectacularly many times,” said Smith.

Smith enjoys science because it gives people a chance to fail with a low risk. She also enjoys seeking the inner workings of the world.

Smith also enjoys things other than science. She enjoys hanging out with her friends and being at home.

“My favorite part of science is when you have failed over and over again, and you start to lose hope that it’ll ever work, and you finally get the results you want,” said Smith.

Smith enjoys seeing her results in her science projects, and it gives her hope for bigger projects going on in our world.

Smith is a hard-working student who puts her all into everything science-related. These attributes, along with others, earned her the spot of Science Student of the Week.
