Tanner Hatch came into the Lowry swim team with nothing but a passion for the sport.

Coach Cassandra Jenkins has been able to watch Hatch grow, and she is impressed with his hard work towards his achievements.

“He joined us with no prior competitive swim experience and over the past four years has worked hard to obtain times that are within the top 13 in all events,” said Jenkins.

Hatch has put his hard work and dedication into a sport that he started for one day of lunch paid by a friend.

“I only really started swimming because my friend said she’d buy me lunch if I did it,” said Hatch.

Hatch has multiple achievements and is currently swimming in success as he focuses on state competitions.

“He is currently placed 4th in the 100 Free, 5th in the 200 Free, 500 Free, and 100 back, 6th in the 100 Breast, 7th in the 200 IM, and 13th in the 100 Fly out of the top 25 in the 3A Division,” said Jenkins.

Jenkins is proud of Hatch for the outcome he put the time in for and is excited to finish the season with him, hopefully at state.

Hatch loves swimming for the time spent with friends and being able to go on trips and compete.

“I like being able to go on trips and being able to compete with my friends”, said Hatch

The hard work and dedication are what keep Hatch going throughout the season.

“What keeps me going is pushing myself, and being able to see improvements, it’s fun to see the changes,” said Hatch.

Hatch stands out from his team with his outstanding dedication and the personality that he gives to his team.

“It has been a pleasure coaching Tanner! He will be missed,” said Jenkins.
