The varsity softball team played against Fallon this weekend in a three-game series. They won one out of three games, but the team said that the games still went very well.
“I think our games went pretty well, we played well given we only had nine players this weekend,” said McKenna Jones.
Churchill won the first two games 13-8 and 12-5 while Lowry won 6-5 in the last game.
Although the games could have gone a little better, the lack of players on the team this weekend was a huge disadvantage to the team as a whole. Although Jones reports that the defense was very strong this weekend.
Jones said that the team has improved a lot over the season. They have been getting better as a whole and individually and she thinks it shows during this series. Even though they didn’t win every single game, she thinks that the team really played well together and is optimistic about how the rest of the season will go.
Captain Ashlee Barron agrees.
“My favorite part about working with the girls is how hard we play and how we always have a ton of fun together,” said Barron.
Their final home games are April 28-29 against Truckee.
