What are you doing March 12, 13, 14, 15 at 7 p.m., because “Sleeping Beauty” will be the play of the year?

This timeless tale is about to go live through Lowry’s Drama and Stagecraft classes. The stars for the play are Mardie Johnson as Sleeping Beauty, Maddie Riley as Maleficent, Brayden Jensen and Seth Hornbarger as Prince Charming, and Ali Wirthlin as the stage manager.

The students are excited to perform for the kids and see the joy on their faces.

“I’m just looking forward to being able to put on a fairytale for the kids and put smiles on everyone’s faces,” said Johnson.

Riley lets the students know that it’s going to be the biggest play of the year.

“It’s gonna be the biggest and best play we’ve done so far. So bring yo kids, bring yo wife, bring everyone,” said Riley.

Stagecraft has worked hard on the production.

“I can tell you that costumes play a big part. That’s our main attraction point,” said Wirthlin. Based on this information the play will have amazing costumes that may add to the entertainment factor.

Jensen hints that it will be a little different than the regular fairytale.

“It’s our take on a classic fairytale,” said Jensen.

What does this mean? Will it be more modern, or completely different who knows, but it will be interesting to find out, so come out and watch the drama perform “Sleeping Beauty”.

Riley talks about how they love the support from the community and how much she loves to see the kids.

“Drama and stagecraft enjoy support from our community, and it gives them a chance to see what we’ve been working on, it’s a great event to take your family to too, very interactive with the kids,” said Riley.

This will be an exciting event that everyone should see, doors open at 6:30 p.m.
