Soccer kicks off season with a two-day tournament

The boy’s and girl’s varsity soccer team started things off in Elko over the weekend.

The boy’s lost three out of four of their games. The first-string goalie Cameron ended up getting injured in a game. He is supposed to be out for at least two weeks.

When the boy’s soccer team played Elko in its first game, they lost 3-0. The team lost 2-0 against Spring Creek on the first day of the tournament. Lowry changed their luck on the next day’s tournament, by beating Spring Creek 2-1 and lost 2-1 against Elko on September 5.

Girl’s varsity lost all of their games.

“I still have high hopes for the rest of the season and our team,” said midfielder Ashlee Jenkins.

The team lost to Spring Creek, 1-0, and Elko 5-1 on September 4. On the second day of the tournament, the girls lost to Spring Creek again1-0.

The first home game of the season will be on September 10.
