South Tahoe outplays JV boy’s soccer

The JV boys struggled and lost to South Tahoe at home on September 18. The boys played a good game without any real blatant mistakes, however, South Tahoe played a better game and won the match.

The players aren’t taking the loss that hard.

“We gave a hard fight,” said player Dalton Irons. “We managed to do a lot more better than we ever thought, like the passing, communication, and body.

The game against Lowry was South Tahoe’s first league game. After the loss, the JV record is 2-3.

JV coach Ron Espinola thinks the loss could serve the team well in the future.

“South Tahoe is definitely one of the better teams we’ll face and I think it was an eye-opener for the team,” said coach Espinola. “Hopefully, we will use it as an opportunity to see what we need to get better.”

Two of the goals were on penalty kicks, so fewer mistakes in the box could have led to better morale on the Lowry side.

The JV boys face Spring Creek on Wednesday, September 23.
