Student of the Week is a fun thing to get as a student. This week Meghan Lane took the Student of the Week for Performing Arts.

“Music is fun and I enjoy making music with other people,” said Meghan Lane. “My favorite concert was my freshman year concerts.”

Meghan has over five years of experience playing the clarinet. She also participates in choir as an elective where she sings in mezzo-soprano. Mezzo-soprano is the middle between different voice levels, such as high and low voices.

“Most of my family has played clarinet before, so it was something I wanted to do,” said Lane.  “If it was offered to me then I would take it as my permanent job, but I’d like to try in other fields first.”

Lane has years of experience in music, she also can play a little bit of piano and guitar but those are not her main instrument. She is always active in class and has great energy and is asking questions.

“She is a good student because she cares about her fellow musicians and about her music program as a whole,” said Ms. Harlie Coney. “She stands out because she is always asking questions that help her and her peers understand. She also has great energy and is always very kind. Some good qualities about her are her positive attitude, flexibility with class time lessons, and her musicianship.”
