The Lowry swim team took on regionals on May 9 of last weekend.
Mike Owens’ goal for this year’s zone team was to take a big team and fill up all the top places in order to take a big team to state.
“Our biggest subject when we go down is to make sure we have a ton of swimmers that swim on Friday and our objective is to make sure we have the top eight because everyone that gets in all those places has a better chance at going to state,” said Owens.
Owens then continued to talk about how well the swim team did this year and how they all pushed each other to be the best.
“This year was an unbelievable year we had a ton of swimmers that were amazing. This year we have a great chance of bringing more swimmers to state. It took a whole team to put the swimmers where they are at,” continued Owens.
This year is also the first year ever being Northern Nevada championships for the boys and has definitely been a great season for the swim team this year.
