Varsity boy’s soccer upsets Fernley Vaqueros

Lowry boy’s soccer had an excellent game against Fernley on Friday, October 21. The Buckaroos had. been anticipating the match-up against the Vaqueros for weeks and showed it with the 6-2 goal differential, defensive pressure, and excellent passing.

“That is the team we have been waiting for,” said coach Steve Swanson. 

Sophomore Carlos Aguilar scored six goals for the Bucks in the 80 minutes of gameplay and sophomore Chris Mendoza, and senior Jessie Pate each scored one. The Buckaroos proved that they were quick on their feet when the score of the game was 1-0 just two minutes after the initial kick-off of the game.

“They guys were out there talking, passing, and they finally were putting that ball in the back of the net. They played really well today. Even when they got a couple of goals scored against them, they came back in the second half and played like madmen,” said Swanson.
