What to do in a Zombie Apocalypse

What to do in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse? This is a question that people have been asking themselves ever since Science Fiction (SiFi) junkies and comic books came up with Zombies. And I have asked myself what I would do, seeing as Area 51 is in the state of Nevada (and yes, it is in Nevada, NOT New Mexico), and even though the chances of Zombies existing are slim, they probably are being experimented within Area 51.

The first thing that most people think you have to do in a Zombie Apocalypse is to get a weapon of some sort, mostly a firearm, such as a shotgun or a sniper rifle, then get food and/or water. That is a complete and utter mistake that has a really good chance of getting you killed from starvation or dehydration. Those who know to get supplies before weapons like me think food should be found first. They are also wrong. Remember the “3-3-3 Rule” that’s taught in the army: three minutes without air, three days without water, three weeks without food. That rule explains how long you can go on average, without the bare essentials: food, water, and oxygen. So, the first thing you have to do in a Zombie Apocalypse is to get water and then food. You can survive without a gun if you are stealthy and smart. You can also survive without food for around three weeks (that doesn’t mean wait three weeks to eat an energy bar, that just means you don’t have to eat it as soon as you find it).

Look in gas stations and small stores for water and food. If you look for it at Wal-Mart, you may run into a lot of zombies and people may have already drained the food and drink stocks. People always overlook the gas stations and small-time food stores and markets. In a Zombie Apocalypse, go to those places for food and water first, not the super-stores. And when you are trying to find drinks, water is what you need the most, not soda. Energy drinks may help if you are going to be on the move during the night, but water is the one drink you have to have.

After you have found some supplies, make sure you have a weapon. The best kind of weapon to have during a Zombie Apocalypse would be something small, lightweight, and quiet, like a sword (with a sheath) or a knife/machete. If you can’t find one, it is okay, just keep moving. You have to keep as far away from the major cities as possible, because when the infection that started the Zombie Apocalypse came, it most likely took place in the major cities before anywhere else. You have to keep moving and stay off the roads. People may have been infected as they were trying to escape the cities. Don’t use a regular car to travel. Traffic jams probably took place as people were getting infected, and the best vehicle to have would be small, fast, and able to turn tight corners (like around cars in a traffic jam), but also be able to go off-road (if going through the cars in the traffic jam is not possible and you have to go around); maybe a motorcycle or a dirt bike.

Personally, I would go with my go-cart. It would have better balance and could carry a passenger to help. You could go with a big rig or a motor home, but only if you have a lot of people to go with you. I’d only do that if my family was with me.

The majority of people think that it is best to be alone in a Zombie Apocalypse instead of staying in a group. The only people you could really trust would be your family and your best friends. Everybody else would take everything they could away from you. Only trust your family and closest friends, the people you know, you can trust.

If you absolutely have to have some sort of a companion, get a dog. Not a small one like a Chihuahua, but a Golden Retriever or a German Shepherd. Also, dogs would help you fight zombies if you wanted or needed them to. Dogs are also more loyal and will stay with you whether you give them food or not.

Now I don’t want to tell too much because then you all will then take all my ideas and then my ideas will be worthless, so that’s all I’m telling. That’s the basics, all that you need to know. Even though you now have a guide as to what to do, let’s hope that a Zombie Apocalypse never happens, because it would be horrible. And for all you gamers out there (like me), I mean worse than in video games.
