There are many memories to be made that will echo throughout pop culture for years to come as it is almost time for the coveted television awards to be distributed to only the most deserving shows and actors. It is the 65 annual Emmy Awards.

The show is to be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. Other awards will be presented by Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, both Oscar Award winners and current Emmy nominees. The awards are picked by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences composed of 6,000 highly skilled individuals whose job is to promote and recognize significant motion picture achievements. Actors and actresses can receive any of the following awards:

Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama Series
Lead Actor/ Actress in a Comedy Series
Lead Actor/Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie
Choreography
Reality-Competition Program
There are many more supporting actors, guest actors, directors, and series awards.

Some popular nominees are director Tim Van Patten for “Boardwalk Empire”, “Big Bang Theory” for best series, actress Tina Fey for her work as the character Liz Lemon in the show “30 Rock”, actor Bryan Cranston for his work as the character Walter White in the show “Breaking Bad.”

Many predictions suggest that the actors from the drama series “Breaking Bad” and the actors from the comedy staged reality series “Modern Family” will rack up many awards.

The award show will premier live Sunday, September 22, 8 p.m. on CBS.
