With the start of the new school year, Lowry High also welcomes a new band. After many seniors graduated last year, there were plenty of open spots available for underclassmen to fill.
Lowry High’s music director, Mr. Paul Criddle, chose senior Jacob Schmidt as Performer of the Week. “He is switching to trombone from tuba,” said Criddle.
Schmidt not only knows how to play the tuba but can also play the trumpet and baritone. Schmidt is highly talented and a great asset with this being only his third year in the band. He actively participates in Pep Band and is also in Swing Choir.
“Last year he went to Small State and All-State for band and Swing Choir,” added Criddle.
