All 11 seasons of “The Office” and so many people are excited about it. It is roughly one of America’s favorite sitcoms. And if you’re still wasting your life away and not watching this amazing show then let me tell you why you should.
The show has a hilarious script and characters that aren’t only witty but have a lot of depth. It has a simple yet complex story that is fun to follow. The characters in the show complement each other greatly and each with diverse and unique personalities makes for comedic clashes and ultimately brightens up the show.
The general storyline revolves around a boss named Michael. All Michael wants to do is make the workplace a fun environment with all of his “friends”. Michael tries to joke around with the people in the office, but sometimes crosses the line, whether it would be racial or just straight-up sexist, it all goes to the HR representative that he hates, Toby.
Now Toby is just a mellow guy trying to do his job, and Michael hates him so much. When Toby denies Michael’s attempts to do anything Michael considers “fun” in the office due to lack of work being done he gets very upset and his trusty sidekick Dwight comes to defend Michael’s honor. Dwight, the Assistant Regional Manager, excuse me, Assistant to the Regional Manager, considers Michael to be one of his closest friends. Michael doesn’t consider Dwight a close friend to due his weird personality Michael wants to be friends with Jim, a salesman, and Pam the receptionist. Jim and Pam have a little history that goes a long way in the show and are ultimately the love story and heart of the entire show. But Michael wants one best friend in the office. He wants to be best friends with the cool and young temp named Ryan. Ryan doesn’t seem to care a lot about his job, but Michael cuts him a lot of slack due to his yearning for friendship.
I could go on and on about all the fabulous characters in the show, but ultimately it’s just a really funny take on what it’s like to work in the office with a crazy boss that has no friends. So yeah, you should watch it. Why not?
