For Valentine’s Day me and my friends in Mrs. Peters’ class had a raffle to raise money for Life Skills Club. Me, Mark, Miss Liz and Miss Karla sold tickets for several days in the glass hallway before school. We were selling tickets for a giant, stuffed gorilla. We gave boxes of Sweethearts to everyone that bought tickets. On Valentine Day I read the winner’s name in the announcements. That winner was Cole Erqueoga. Life Skills raised $137 with the gorilla. We Don’t Monkey Around!
Is everyone ready for summer? I sure am! I am so ready to go outside without a coat! I decided to ask my classmates and our aides what they are most looking forward to now that it is warming up. Miss Karla said NO MORE SNOW!! Aaron said he is looking forward to it just being summer. With a big grin, Juan said drinking Kool-Aid. Miss Gloria said wearing flip-flops and dresses and Francisco is ready to go running and both he and Johaunna are ready for swimming. Michael is looking forward to mowing the lawn. Andrew and Eric both are happy to be running in track practice and at track meets. One of our third-period TAs, Dominique, said going to the lake. Trey, our other TA in third said wearing warm weather clothing. I told him that he already wears that kind of clothing and he said it is more fun to wear them in the summer. Angel can’t wait to go on picnics with her sisters and hang out with them. Mrs. Shelley said that she is ready to go camping and Mark is so ready for spring break. Mrs. Peters said it is time to wear sandals and she is ready to be outside. Miss Susie is excited about going to see her grandchildren in Denver, Colorado. And Miss Liz said she is ready to do yard work and get into her garden. What are you all looking forward to? I think that we are all ready to be out and about and feel warmed up after a long, cold winter.
