Press Release; Readout of the Vice President’s Call with President Rousseff of Brazil

Vice President Joe Biden had reached out to the president of Brazil to congratulate her on her re-election, and to talk to her about the countries partnerships.

“The Vice President called President Dilma Rousseff this morning to congratulate her on her re-election,” according to a press release.

He talked about our bilateral partnership, and his commitment to cooperation in areas such as commerce, energy, and other priority bilateral issues.

“The Vice President emphasized the strategic value of our bilateral partnership and reinforced his commitment to deepening our cooperation in areas such as commerce, energy, and other priority bilateral issues through our existing strategic dialogues,” stated the press release.

Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff had thanked Vice President Joe Biden for the call and made sure to strengthen the ties between the two countries is one of Brazil’s priorities.

“President Rousseff thanked the President and affirmed that strengthening ties with the United States is a priority for Brazil,” said the press release.
