There are many talented artists at Lowry High but Ms. Cassandra Jenkins determined that one of her basic drawing students stands out the most as her hardest-working student. She is a junior and her name is Jasmin Ruiz. She can build her drawings to be both intriguing and pleasing to the eye that stands out to the average person and advanced artists.

“Jasmin is very talented and takes much pride in her work,” Jenkins said. “She has amazing skills with the mediums of color pencil and graphite.”

Jasmin Ruiz is not only a very talented artist, but she is also a model student and is a very good example to the other students in her classes.

“Jasmin is a very quiet young lady but her artistic abilities that I have been able to see thus far speak for themselves,” Jenkins said. “She is a pleasure to have in class.”

And she will continue to get better as the year goes on as her artistic abilities continue to grow. Ms. Jenkins believes art is more than a talent but also a release for Jasmine.

“You can tell that art is an outlet for her and gives her much relief from reality as she ventures into the visual world she is creating,” said Jenkins.

Jasmin Ruiz enjoys her artwork and she likes to inspire people through her artwork which is her favorite part about her work.

“I like art because it can be a powerful way to inspire people,” said Ruiz.

She is also inspired by other artists and their work which helps form the style of art she likes and the way she creates her art.

“An artist who inspired me is Vincent Van Gogh because I remembered doing an art piece of his which is “Starry Night”, I really liked that piece,” said Ruiz.

She is experimenting with art styles and methods to find her personal favorite but no matter what style she does she can make it look easy.
