This week Junior Caitlin Orr was chosen as Athlete of the Week for girl’s golf. Orr is not new to this sport. Before moving to Nevada, Orr also played golf in Wyoming.
Something that is new to her is the competitive side of it. There is a lot of competition not only between the Northern Nevada league but also within Lowry’s team.
Coach Andrew Meyer chose Orr because, “at the last tournament, she stepped up. She really contributed to the team.”
The Lady Bucks won by only two strokes, “but without her score, we wouldn’t have won,” stated Meyer.
Meyer believes that the team has a fair chance at making it to state, but he hopes to win the Northern League.
The top player this year is senior Cortney Kieser.
