Tanner Lecumberry, a sophomore, has progressed into a great athlete in the last few years and now plays football, basketball, and baseball for the Buckaroos.

“I like the challenge and the feeling of getting better at something. Also winning is awesome,” said Lecumberry.

He is a tri-sport athlete and also holds a 4.0 GPA. His accomplishments span from a Nevada State all academic award for baseball to a spot on varsity football. He is a quarterback in football, a guard in basketball, and an infielder in baseball.

“I plan to win a state title in all of my sports and be a major part of that success,” said Lecumberry.

“Yo gusto jugar los deportes. Quiero ganar pero pierdo a veces. Perder no es bueno,” said Lecumberry, “That’s about all I know how to say in Spanish but I do know that I love sports and everything they have to offer, and I always strive to succeed and to do my best in my role as a team member. I will always enjoy playing sports and I know I will be involved with them my whole life.”

When asked for any advice for upcoming athletes Tanner said, “Just keep working as hard as you can to get better. Trust me, it will pay off.”
