The boys’ varsity basketball team won each and every game of the Lowry Invitational Tournament last weekend.

Calvin Connors only had positive things to say about the tournament.

“The tournament went really well,” said Connors. “The tournament was a chance for us to play in a different venue. It’s still home, but it was nice. We had a lot of support from friends and family that came to see us.”

On Thursday, November 29, the team won 59-46 against Virgin Valley. On Friday, November 30, they defeated Carson 57-44, and on Saturday, December 1, North Tahoe had symptoms of food poisoning, so Lowry won by forfeit. Instead, the team had an intrasquad game.

Even though the team did exceptionally well, Connors said there is room for improvement.

“We could improve a lot on defense and overall stamina, but still, we’re a great team, and more people should come to support us.”

With a successful beginning, the team is sure to have a fantastic season and stay defending champs. The team’s next game is Thursday, December 6 against Boulder City.
