Ms. Kelly Bales chose Ethan Montenegro to be the Performer of the Issue for his presence and dedication on the stage.
“He has a small role in Dr. Experimentor and the League of Evil, but he has an incredible stage presence,” said Bales. “You will notice and remember Ethan in the play.”
“He is very dependable and hard-working,” said Bales. “He was also the first person to memorize his lines which shows his dedication to the program.”
Bales noted Montenegro’s skill in delivering lines despite being his first time performing and his first year in Drama.
“He understands how to deliver lines with the most impact and humor,” said Bales. “Ethan Montenegro has been in Stagecraft for two years, but his first year in Drama.”
Bales is ready to see Montenegro’s future performances after seeing his skill and dedication in the fall play.
“I look forward to seeing what Ethan does in our spring play,” said Bales.
Montenegro enjoys being in drama even when it is not his turn on stage he is happy to see how the play unfolds.
“Those in-between scenes with the small fries, I wasn’t in any of them but they were fun to read over and hear the audience’s reactions,” said Montenegro. “I’m pretty sure that was their favorite part too”.
Ethan Montenegro took on many roles during the play, he performed as three characters: Zombie #4, Dali, and Stallone.
“I liked getting into those characters,” said Montenegro. “Dali was my favorite. This guy’s personality was being sarcastic. It was kind of more broad so I could do more with that role.”
Montenegro has made a lot of friends in his first year of drama which has made the year fun.
“Being on stage is more scary thinking about than actually being on the stage,” said Montenegro.
