Junior varsity baseball team starts off season on road

The Lowry JV boys came out with a 3-1 on record during the Yerington preseason tournament. The team played Tonopah and it turned out as a 7-9 win for the Bucks. Brandon Okuma, Dustin Bryan and Lane Mentaberry each had two runs throughout this game.

Against Hawthorne, Lowry came out on top with a 10-8 victory. Cody Green, Okuma, and Christian Dawson each had two runs. Aaron Nelson practices pitching the ball.

When Lee Vining, was put up against the Lowry Bucks, Lee Vining came out on top with a 4-3 win over the Bucks. Tytin Johnson, however, had pitched well; when he allowed only four hits to Hawthorne.

When Okuma was pitched against South Tahoe, he only allowed two hits in the three innings he pitched. Lowry came out on top beating South Tahoe 3-2.

“Johnson and Okuma each pitched a good game,” said coach Don Walton.

The LHS JV baseball team will be playing Friday March, 18 at 12:30 p.m. against West Wendover, at Lowry High School.
