“Everyone better be ready because we are awesome,” senior catcher and captain Dana Pardovich said. The Lady Bucks are looking to return to the state title game this year and bring back first place.

Returning to their varsity positions are Dana Pardovich, Jenae Neu, Taylor Johnson, Madi Gonzalez, Angie Herrera, Hana Etcheverry, Chelsea Cochrane, and Virginia Castillo.

Shannon McClellan, Kayla Doyle, Kelse Diehl, Ashley Lombardi, and Sydnie Sundahl have all moved up from last year’s JV team. Heather McElvain is new to Lowry and clinched a Varsity position.

“Our team is more than just a group of girls; we are more of a family. We all get along so well, it is such a relief because chemistry bonds a team,” said junior pitcher Kayla Doyle.

Coaches Ty Lucas, and Jamie Billingsley along with senior captains Dana Pardovich and Jenae Neu, are hoping to lead this year’s team to state once again.

“We want to go to state again but, we plan on winning this time,” said junior third base-woman Hana Etcheverry.

The Bucks went to a tournament in Sacramento last weekend and played at the Sacramento Sports Complex. They won one game, tied two games, and lost two games.

“This gives us a starting point for the season and we played considerably well for playing with big teams. Fallon, Rhaghetti, Oak Ridge, Folsom, and McQueen are all large schools with large athletic programs and we held our own against them,” said Etcheverry.

Catch the Lady Bucks in action tonight at the Jim Billingsley Softball Field.
