Students collecting warm clothes for the less fortunate

Students collecting warm clothes for the less fortunate

By Weston Irons Posted November 23, 2012

With winter rapidly approaching, the weather is getting colder and colder by the day. It is the same time of the year when the less fortunate and homeless people of Winnemucca struggle to stay warm since they don’t have the clothing most of us are lucky to have. In order to help these people who have a hard time during the winter months, good-conditioned items such as blankets, hats, scarves, sleeping bags, coats, etc. are very much appreciated as a donation. This event is organized by Renee Poole and Madison Waldie.

Collection bins are set up at French Ford Middle School, Sonoma Heights Elementary, Lowry High School, and Winnemucca Christian Fellowship (located on Grass Valley Road). These bins will remain up until the week after Thanksgiving.

There is also going to be a trailer set up on Friday, November 23 for donations as well. The location is still to be determined. So pay attention to the daily announcements. If you have any remaining questions feel free to contact Renee Poole or Madison Waldie.
