Track Preview

It’s that time of the year again, where the fabulous sport of track is back in session. This year’s team looks very promising as they return 10 student-athletes that went to state last year, four girls, and six boys.

The girls are Raven Black, Alex Schirrick, Taylor LaTray, and Jasmin Landa. And for the boys, Nic Velasquez, Chase Estes, Brady Riley, Elijah Frei, Joey Flanders, and Lance Johnson.

“The girls are going to do better than last year, we have new freshmen that are going to try out for relays. However, we lost many good male sprinters and throwers. So, right now they are in a tremendous pickle, but we will see how it turns out,” said Taylor LaTray.

Last year, the Lowry track team was very successful, as they won numerous track meets. The most successful team is all the relay teams. To be on the relay, you need to be the best in that event and must be able to qualify in your event.

The Bucks start this season off with a track meet in Spring Creek as they hope to start the season off right.
