What to Watch: Oklahoma vs. Texas and Florida vs. LSU

By Brandon Eastman Posted October 6, 2011

Two of the marquee matchups next weekend in college football feature, traditionally, four of the top names in the game.

The number three-ranked Oklahoma Sooners will travel to eleventh-ranked Texas Longhorns, while the top-ranked team in the nation, LSU Tigers, will play host to No. 17, the Florida Gators.

Oklahoma vs. Texas can be seen on ABC at 9 a.m., and LSU vs. Florida can be seen on CBS at 12:30 p.m. If you are going to tune into these games expecting to see a close one, you better change the channel. You should expect two routs in these two games as LSU and Oklahoma have proven to be two of the best teams in the nation, so far, and we shouldn’t see a let-up in either team.

With LSU playing at home, the LSU-Florida game should get out of hand early and the Tigers should run away with it. In the Oklahoma-Texas game, the score should remain fairly close and competitive throughout the first half, seeing as Texas will use the energy from their home-field advantage, but Oklahoma is just too good to lose to an unproven team this early in the season.
