New students and new cliques

Many people have seen the fantastic movie “Mean Girls”. This movie has a unique set of characters. Regina George is a well-known character in the movie. Then there is Cady Heron the “Freak” that came from Africa.

Regina is a mean and heartless teenager; she doesn’t care about others she only cares about herself. If someone didn’t like her she didn’t think it was a big deal. Regina always was a sassy girl. Everyone in North Shore wanted to be Regina. If you were in her clique you were known as a plastic. Somehow Cady Heron got into the clique.

At Lowry this happens all the time, when someone new comes into town, students judge them right away. Usually, new students don’t know a lot of people which is understandable. Others are really mean to the new students.

When a person comes into the classroom they’ve never seen before, the others stare at the new students like they are looking at an alien. At lunch, there are many cliques such as the jocks, preps, and others that are different. Students have to figure out where they belong in school.

This shouldn’t happen in high school, everyone should be able to get to know one another and be friends. We all know that won’t happen in every school. They will always have their cliques and their own people. Hopefully, this will change, if you don’t know someone try to get to know them before you judge them. You never know; maybe that person will be your best friend. Don’t be a Regina.
